Short Range Solution Expands Practice Opportunities
Several netting suppliers have teamed up with Coastal Netting Systems in Bakersfield, Calif., to develop a short range solution that maximizes available space and revenue per square foot. A recent project built at Diablo Country Club in California uses a Coastal-engineered anchorless pole system paired up with extra heavy-duty impact netting from Tex-Net Inc. of Florence, N.J., to create a partially enclosed practice area. The six-station 35-foot-tall and 60-foot-deep practice cage at Diablo (bottom) offers golfers full swing, chipping and sand bunker practice and a lesson area that was previously unavailable. A similar system was installed by Glendale, Ariz.-based Judge Netting at Las Vegas’ Wynn Casino. Using Coastal poles and netting from Redden Nets of Bellingham, Wash., Wynn Casino (top) opted for a 12-station setup that’s 60 feet high and deep and 180 feet long.
