Equipment Guide: Netting

Special Web Section

ACE GOLF NETTING
A national turnkey netting installation contractor with 16 years’ experience, Ace Golf Netting uses an exclusive Double X Brace system, which employs four brace cables per netting span instead of one to limit billowing. The brace is made with 5/16-inch aircraft cable vinyl-coated to 3/8 inch, and the company uses GF-86 UV-protected netting manufactured by Nettexx Inc. The tops and bottoms of the nets are hung with 3/8-inch galvanized aircraft cable and the netting is hand-sewn with a poly rope border and attached to the cable by 5/16-inch snap hooks and shackles. The netting comes with a 10-year, non-prorated manufacturer’s warranty, and installation is warranted for two years. Ace Golf Netting uses engineered steel poles from Coastal Netting Systems.

COASTAL NETTING SYSTEMS
Coastal Netting Systems designs and manufactures steel poles for golf ball barrier netting systems to 160 feet above ground. Coastal’s steel poles are installed in more than 400 golf courses and practice ranges throughout the U.S.
Golf Range Times The company applies a three-application coating process to its poles using STRYK FACS-5388, a corrosion-retardant coating used on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. STRYK has a high degree of impermeability to moisture and will not support fungal growth in high humidity and water-immersed environments. The coating’s elasticity prevents the finish from cracking in extreme weather conditions and wind movement, and forms an impermeable coating that prevents moisture and oxygen from producing corrosion or oxidation; the coating bonds with the substrate, which prevents corrosion even if the coating is broken.
Golf Range Times Coastal’s steel poles are manufactured in diameters of 10 3/4, 16, 24 and 36 inches, depending on local conditions and height above ground level. Each steel pole is constant in diameter, from the embedment bottom to the pole top, to assure maximum netting field life.
Golf Range Times Coastal’s quality control measurements and staff of certified welders continue to assure its steel poles will not fail in severe weather conditions. The range owner’s investment is protected with insurance coverage through Coastal’s A++-rated insurance product liability policy.
Golf Range Times Structural engineering drawings and calculations are available with the Professional Engineer’s Seal for all U.S. states.
